Nearly one million Florida voters have already been pushed off active rolls—many are now one missed election away from being permanently erased from the system.

This is a staggering drop in a fast-growing state where the population is increasing, not shrinking. These voters haven’t all been fully erased yet, but many have been quietly shifted into “inactive” status—a bureaucratic limbo that removes them from official counts and puts them on a path to permanent removal if they miss elections or fail to respond to mailed notices. In counties across the state, tens of thousands more are already being fully purged, often after failing to navigate increasingly complex rules. This isn’t just routine list maintenance—it’s a system that steadily shrinks the electorate, one missed notice, one missed election, and one bureaucratic hurdle at a time.

Road2Rights has created the Float Florida Blue initiative to accomplish the important goal of promoting Democratic participation in the state of Florida. Our goal is to register 200,000+ new voters in the state between now and the election in November. 


The 2026 election season has the potential to produce unprecedented results all over the country, and we need to ensure that Florida is well positioned to elect Democrats all over the state.
